To The Table: A Spirituality of Food, Farming, & Community

TotheTable coverOver the last couple of years when I’ve not been in the fields growing food I’ve been researching and writing about it. Winter, when the gardens are at rest, is the perfect season for the release of my newest book. To the Table is about eating well, that is, in ways that are good for ourselves, our communities, and our world. In its pages are stories about some of you (thank you for letting me interview you!), pencil drawings by CSA member Brandon Buerkle, some sociology and history, recipes and how-to guides, and always an invitation to think deeply about how we eat–to connect food to faith.

I hope some of you will order it, read it, gift it, pass it on, and help spread the word about how food comes to our tables, and why it matters that we think about it at all.
